Excerpted from the university’s official report — According to the 2025 World’s Top 2% Scientists list released by Stanford University (USA), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) has achieved outstanding recognition, with:

• 54 professors listed in the Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings (1960–2024),

• 44 professors listed in the Annual Scientific Impact Rankings (2024), and

• 27 professors appearing in both rankings.

In total, 69 NTUST scholars have been named to the global top 2% list.
Among them are six distinguished faculty members from the Department of Industrial Management (IM):

• Distinguished Professor Chou, Shuo Yan,

• Distinguished Professor Kuo, Ren Jieh,

• Professor Kuo, Tsai Chi,

• Distinguished Professor Wang, Fu Kwun,

• Professor Tsao, Yu Chung, and

• Professor Yu, Vincent F.

Notably, Professors Kuo, Ren Jieh, Kuo, Tsai Chi, Wang, Fu Kwun, Tsao, Yu Chung, and Yu, Vincent F. are listed in both the Lifetime and Annual Impact Rankings.

📊 Outstanding Academic Impact in Specialized Fields

Professor Tsai-Chi Kuo has distinguished himself in the field of Industrial Engineering & Automation, ranking second in Taiwan on the 2024 Annual Rankings. His research focuses on smart manufacturing and sustainable development. He has led over 40 national science projects and more than 100 industry–academia collaborations, supporting companies such as Delta Electronics and ASE Group in enhancing ESG performance and carbon inventory technologies to drive sustainable transformation.

Professor Yu-Chung Tsao (Chair Professor) and Distinguished Professor Fu-Kwun Wang have also made remarkable contributions in the field of Operations Research, ranking third and fourth nationally in the annual list, respectively. Their research centers on intelligent supply chain management and artificial intelligence applications in smart manufacturing.

This year also marks Distinguished Professor Shuo-Yan Chou’s first inclusion in the Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings, reflecting his long-term academic achievements.
